9mm pepper Blanks rounds regulations & guidelines
These self defence 9mm Firearms require ** No License Required ** and go off with a realistic gunshot noise.
9mm Pepper Blanks Guns use a 9mm P.A.K Shell with a primer and gunpowder.
They are Not Air / Co2 or Gas Powered.
9mm blank firing guns are a non lethal alternative to a firearm, it looks, feels, sounds and works like a real firearm and should be treated like one.
Pepper Blanks guns are used to Deter/Defend and buy time. Best of all it’s License free!
There are 3 Types of rounds currently available in the 9mm P.A.K Ammunition.
1.- 9mm Blank that just makes a realistic gunshot noise and fire Nothing.
2.- 9mm Pepper Blank that fires a Powder Type Tear Gas that makes a realistic gunshot noise. This type of Blanks Powder is called a “PV Pepper Cartridge.” The more powerful version of this round will say the word “SUPRA” on the box
3.- 9mm CN Gas (Teargas) round also makes a realistic gunshot noise. The more powerful version of this round will say the word “SUPRA” on the box
The 9mm Pepper & 9mm CN Gas rounds shoot (approximately 3-4m) that will incapacitate your assailant.
All 3 rounds also making a realistic gunshot sound.
These 9mm Handguns only shoots a Pepper Powder, CN Teargas or Blanks, not a Pepper-Ball.
Why No Licence:
If this 9mm firearm could fire a ball it would then be a Licensable firearm and you would need a Firearms License. Because they do not fire a Projectile they are classified under the Explosives act and NOT the Firearms control act in South Africa. The Store selling the 9mm rounds has to have an Explosives Licence and take down the details in a register of the purchaser and what rounds they bought. There is no limit on rounds the end user can purchase.
3 categories to be classified as a firearm –
- Gun Powder.
- Primer in a Casing.
- Shoots A Projectile (9mm Pepper Powder & 9mm CN Gas is not classified as a Projectile.)

What does P.A.K. stand for – 9mm P.A.K. (Pistole Automatik Knall, “automatic blank pistol”) is a firearm cartridge for a non-lethal gas pistol noise making gun.
Note: Only for use in 9mm P.A.K Self Defence Blank Pepper Guns.
PRECAUTIONS:
1- Before using your gun, please read and understand all warnings and instructions outlined in the owner’s manual.
2- Owner and user must know and obey all local laws related with ownership and use of blank guns.
3- All the weapons are dangerous. If you do not obey the laws it may cause unintended results.
4- If you use gun for the first time get help from some- one qualified in safe handling of guns or your dealer.
5- Keep store guns and cartridges separately beyond the reach of children.
6- To prevent your gun from turning into a dangerous tool, never point it at persons, animals or plants (in a range of at least 5m). Except for the emergency cases, always keep the muzzle downward.
7- You must treat the gun as if it was loaded with cartridges.
8- Keep your finger off the trigger until you are actually aiming of at the target and nearly to shoot.
9- Never make jokes with the guns. Always respect the safety rules.
10-Before shoot you must be sure that the target area is clear of people or animals.
11-High explosion sound may cause trouble in hearing 9MM BLANK / PEPPER PISTOLS ARE NOT TOYS. THEY SERVE A PURPOSE TO DETER/DEFEND & BUY TIME, They are also not firearms but as far as safety goes it should be treated as one
